- During Betamax launch in the UK, we have received a draft of his speech

document from Sony HQ and it was included that “You can record and replay any TV programs.

This subject was heavy discussed among parliament and the top of Sony should not say

this matter at that time. So, we have deleted it but when Mr. A. Morita arrived, he made it very clear that any changes within his speech, we must consult with Sony HQ where many people

are involved to prepare it and local management should not change it without informing HQ.

It was obvious that we should communicate with HQ much more in details but felt that we should not ask it with HQ since Sony is trying to expand this concept on world-wide basis.
